Hello My name is Edward and I have been prepping for a while. I did not know that I was a prepper until I saw an article on the web about it and said hey that is me. I just recently moved out of the big city to an area with a little land, so I am going to start a garden this year.
My parents taught me that you need to be able to take care of yourself. Their favorite was "always keep $20 stashed in your wallet that way in case your friends ditch you, that way you can catch a cab home."
I have always subscribe to the 3 is 2 is 1 philosophy ( just ask my wife about my flashlight collection).
I read Fer Fal's book and I started realizing that the US economy could take a huge hit if not collapse altogether and figured that I am not as prepared as I thought I was and I could learn some things from like minded people on this forum, So I checked out the posts for awhile before I decided to join and here I am. This is the first forum that I have ever joined so be patient with me.

Welcome indeed. I think most of the posters here – and the site owners in particular – are generally the most switched-on survivalists out there, so hopefully you'll glean something worthwhile from this site.
