FerFAL, 30 years old, married, got two kids, living in Buenos Aires hoping to move out soon, which is something we've been planing to do for years.
I'm currently working on a novel that takes place in the 1800's, a girl that is turning into a woman and by accidnet or destiny gets kidnaped by a charming pirate, they aruge a lot but finally fall in love.
The title is "Waters of Passion", and yes I'm just kidding.

Married to a sharp minded girl, mid 40's, the lights of my life are twin girls and a boy, dentist by profession. We live in the 'burbs of a big old east coast city.
Things are still very stable here – the area has an extremely diverse economy that isn't as expensive as NY or DC but has all the amenities. We don't get the booms other areas experience but we also don't crash as hard. Our area also isn't very likely to experience emergencies due to natural disaster – we aren't in hurricane or tornado alley and we are geologically stable. Up high so no flooding either.
Crime in our area is low- you just don't hear about muggings or home invasions but since we are wedged between a big city and another poor area it could go downhill. Right now we're just keeping our eyes open and are very thankful we bought our house BEFORE the real estate boom – at this time our house is still worth more than we paid.
Our entire existence is extremely low key and we have every intention of keeping it that way. Our greatest asset is my wife's large, tight extended family. There's help if we need it.

32 years old, lives and preps for my beautiful wife, son 4 and daughter 2. We just bought a home in a small quiet community on the outskirts of Oslo, the capital of Norway.
This is a really nice corner of the globe to live in, but things aren't perfect here and some things, like crime, are getting worse.

Peter, 29 Married. I live in Austria, near Vienna. No children so far and not sure if I want some. For now we borrow the kids from my sister from time to time. And thats enough
Austria is so far not that much affected from the crisis. Sure that people and also people I know have already lost their job. But people here still trust in our government. Therefore its like living in 2 worlds. On the 1 hand getting the information from all over the world what's going on and how worse the situation is already in some parts. On the other hand, living in a country where most people still live an illusion.i
A great support is my wife, who is from croatia, because she has seen how things can go wrong. Civil war in ex-jugoslawi and the country is still f***ed. High crime rate – young people have no perspective.
I wish all of us a good time in this forum and the best for the future. And a big thanks to Ferfal who opened my eyes a lot.

29, Married, no kids…yet. Born and raised in the great state of Texas (I'm starting to hope that it'll return to being its own country again).
I'm the currently invisible other half of our little GTA experiment, working hard behind the scenes. Once we get everything up and running, I'll be able to hang out more and get to know everyone so I'm not a stranger on our own website.
Although I've been campaigning hard to get Fernando to move to Texas, I must admit that I'm a little upset with him for revealing how I met my wife in Waters of Passsion.Wow, what an original "novel". Did you really think that changing the time period would cause me not to notice a blatant rip-off??? How many times do I have to tell you?!? It's not piracy if she later fell in love with me!

Jono. 40YA in 2 weeks (yes – I was born in the 60's!). No kids. Divorced. Engaged to a wonderful teacher 5 years my senior. 1 dog: El Lobo H Grande the German Shepherd fighting dog – he just turned 10 months 2 days ago and is already near 100 lbs (hence "Grande"). Jack of all trades. Master of some. Prepper for two years. Information slut – can't get enough! I live near Phoenix AZ where I moved 2 years ago after my divorce to become an outdoor guide. I lead backpacking tours in the Grand Canyon and guide day tours rafting on the Rio Salado & Rio Verde in Phoenix Metro (rafted in Valle Grande near San Rafael on a tour of Chile, Argentina, & Uruguay a few years back – loved BA!). I am also a host at a campground and live in an RV (no rent, no taxes, no utilities – that's how I can afford to be a guide!). I feel that something big is happening… bigger than just an economic crunch. I have been watching & waiting. Researching. I deal in conspiracy fact (and sometimes theory when I fancy fantasy). I'm against Bilderberg. NWO & CFR. I submit this link: Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..-CrNlilZho I have been following ferfal.blogspot on a daily basis for over a year and am happy to see him branching out w/ GTA. I would like to see him address conspiracy a bit more (hmmm – another new website?? When will he have time for his family?!). Love the (actual) book! Can't wait for the (real) followup! I think he should move up to the Canyon State! I'm not writing a book – just reading them! Jono / AZ (PS – I love math!)

Damn! You mean there's other books picturing a long haired, bare chested pirate stud with his muscled arms around a half naked chick?
You know, I told one of the guys that before my book was out, he answered something like" …ok… I 'm sure its nice.. I was sort of expecting a book about survival from you… " He totally bought it

Hello from Malaysia.
I have been reading Ferfal's blog for more than a year. I really am grateful for the information there. I am currently working with some Argentines, but they never like to say much about the country. When I asked, they never want to tell.
I am an engineer. Already bought myself a Land Rover defender and currently building a dredge (for gold). Basically in Malaysia, the people that lived in a same village or housing estate will stick together for their neighbours and villagers. And that prevented crime from happening as there will always be support and back up to kick some criminal or troublemaker's ass. A lot of people will do self sufficient farming or animal rearing(fish, cow, goats etc). Weather is nice, sunny and rainy. Almost in every home there will be at least a machete as no guns are allowed in the country. We have a small number of libtards, but that is not a problem.
Anyway, glad to be a member. Piracy has been in the blood. In the old days, we robbed ships. But now, we sell pirated softwares.
Thanking all of you,
BP

43 year old disabled vet. I've been getting preped for just over a year now. 2 dogs 1 cat and 12 bunnies so far… learning gardening.
I guess my specialty is getting ready cheaply. I really got hooked on ferfal when he gave me the most probable SHTF to prep for.
I get tired of folks that think it has to be expensive to prep. You can save a lot of money buying bulk and making "real food".
I always have more to do and more to learn. That's what makes this so exciting.

Aloha from Hawaii!
Middle aged, fat, uh, big boned, divorced (thank god), full time single dad of one very sassy 10 year old girl who I expect will begin PMS'ng in 5, 4, 3, 2…. Been prepping since 2004, the year I snapped out of my Sheeple coma. LOVE Ferfal's book. FINALLY – some freakin "man in the street" common sense to survivalism. For that, thank you!
Don't consider myself a Survivalist any more; nor a Prepper. I've moved onto the lastling reality that being prepared is simply a way of life. Now, I'm just Condosteading (homesteading in a condo). Living a down to earth lifestyle like my grandparents did (they were farmers), but without the dirt. Dirt here is very expensive and simply beyond my reach. -and no, I ain't moving. Living here is my life long dream, and YES, it is paradise.
So, me and the kid live a few floors up in the sky, are disaster / collapse prepped for the most part, and we're raising quail and tilapia, along with growing vegetables in a hydroponic garden on our lanai. Which I'm working on converting to aquaponics in a few months once the bed is seeded correctly. We also can, sprout, bake, and do a host of other things to make our lives more self reliant.
After reading the "I live in an apartment, what can I do," comments for years in other forums, I'm out to prove to others who share my dirtless existance that anything is possible. Even started up a blog if anyone's interested. I don't know everything and I make a lot of mistakes, but I have fun along the way. -and that's all that really matters.

Hi,
I'm living in the UK and have been getting prepared since 2005. I'm a mother of four adults and have four grandchildren. Read Ferfal's blog way back and then his book – they both made a lot of sense. I scooted over here as soon as I saw the link because I want to learn whatever I can to get through what's coming.

25, single guy, tow truck operator/mechanic. Currently stuck in the glorious hell hole that is NJ. Just finished community college up since I was going very slowly and working during that time. Transferred and waiting to hear if I got into the school I wanted.
Been prepping since I was a kid and some of you might recall I was a part of Frugals and War Rifles forums (I left for personal reasons as both of those sites went bonkers). Have known FerFal online a long time and I keep telling him he should get out of BS.
Happy to be here..

Hi from Northern Ireland (UK). I'm 38, wife is 28 (lucky me!) and baby #1 is scheduled to arrive in the spring. I have both Irish & British citzenship, but class myself as British first. And please note my spelling will be a little different to that of the Americans on this site ;-)
I've been interested in survivalism for a few years, having read Rawles' "Patriots" and all 3 of Matthew Bracken's books (yellow, red and blue!), amongst many others. And of course, FerFAL's superlative work on the subject of survival which, I have to say, has revolutionised my own thinking on the matter.
