Greetings! My husband and I are concerned about the coming economic collapse and are attempting to get prepared, while not freaking out. Things in Indiana are better than in much of the country, but for how long? It's tough to see it coming and not know if we are prepared enough and in the correct manner. Thanks for your insight!

Welcome to the forum.  I'm glad to hear that you and your husband are starting to prepare. There's no need to "freak out" though. Continue to get your preparations in place. Once you have a solid foundation, start improving upon what you already have a little at a time. Before long, you won't have a reason to freak out anymore because you'll know that you're ready.
Treat preparing as a lifestyle while keeping in mind to always prepare to live, instead of living to prepare. Do that, and you'll be fine.
If you have any questions along the way, you're in the right place to ask them.

Welcome Erin, I see you have already jumped into the orchard and are ready to contribute. I'll admit to some over-zealous posts, as most can attest. But I'm not as mean as Jarhead says. In fact I don't think any Marine will admit an ole "Army Puke" as being as good as him in cutting folks down to size.
There is a bunch of info here to help. Not just to survive but thrive. Some great links to keep you aware of what's going on, and some great folks that are very smart and make you think and not just react. We will not always agree, but we do usually give you several points of veiw.
I think what I like the best is all the info I get. I may or may not use it, but I do trust most of the folks here that give me the data. If not there is always Google.
Don't get crazy, we will survive this, just like folks survived all other disasters. Get ready, get prepared, get ready to learn. We've got a full plate. But we'll do it.
