time is running short. this thing in the gulf is driving me crazy. it would appear that the u.s. has lost God's favor. it began when that space shuttle blew up with a woman teacher onboard. everybody thought it was such a good idea to send her up, and school kids all over the country were watching the launch. but then, kaboom. the beginning of the end.

I've been seeing more of these types of articles. It's nice that most of the media isn't treating folks like they are "Crazy".

Yeah, I've been seeing this all go mainstream and it's making me question what's coming since my biggest rule on the media is, "if they know it it's not true.

Funny to talk to my Greek and Italian friends. They are now believers in all the s**t I've been telling them for years. Funny though, there's no peak oil that I can see, just peak production. With what's going on in the Niger River Delta and other places across the world, it's obvious that supplies exist, but they are not being produced or distributed because of chaos in the local markets. What's really coming to an end is our ability to keep spending. We've broken ourselves and don't produce much any longer. Sad times, but maybe the beginning of a return to reason. We'll see.

Could it be the lastest shadow govt conspiracy?  rolleyes

Prepping going mainstream would have a lot of advantages.  If you know that an economic collapse is looming, it makes sense to get the masses prepared.  The economic impact of everyone buying preps could give the economy a boost.  When TSHTF more people are ready.

Ready.gov just didn't git 'er done.  Put it on reality TV and on the cover of Entertainment Weekly and the sheeple will buy it.

Today, JWR announced over at survivalblog he will be consulting on a new survivalist reality TV show.

there is plenty of oil. it's the price that's the sticky part. as the dollar declines the price will go up but there is a hundred year supply of it. look into the abiotic theory of oil.

the real question is this: how did such a lovely and charming woman as jill biden fall for a doofus like joe? she would have made the best first lady of all time.

Law of nature: Rich dudes get the hot chicks. Pimp

An aquaintance of mine was Joe's lab partner in college.  She said he is as dumb as a rock.

I used to be quite amused to hear that Sarah Palin wasn't smart enough to be prez. It's like, HELLO! AND JOE BIDEN IS?

I like that, EN. The whole 'peak oil' catastrophe scenario never really got my interest much. Everyone should take note of the new topic you just posted on 'Gobar Gas'. The catastrophe facing the world is so easy to understand…the problem is that the world is consuming more than it produces; and that's really it. Ayn Rand had said that an honest man is one that realizes that he cannot consume more than he produces. She was the greatest advocate of reason in our generation but her ideas might be just a little too late.

Reason we are reading so much of it in the news is that it is "Natl. Preparedness month." Wait till Oct, and no one will care again. That is unless the economy dies in Oct, which has always been the historical case.

Historical case indeed. Economically bad things tend to happen in Oct. I've had it explained to me different ways and different reasons, but none really rings true. My pucker factor increases exponencially in that month. panic

People continue to buy bomb shelters mainly as a hedge against an economic collapse.  This supplier also has military and government projects for bomb shelters, which suggests these people are getting ready for a collapse, too.

Yea, with 300+ million people in this grand nation, we're going to need a lot of bomb shelters. Especially when it becomes simpler for the gubment to firebomb a town thats rebelling rathr than accomadate or occupy them!
