You know, I'd really like to leave now but I'm afraid I'm dug in a little too deep to uproot my wife and myself and leave the rest of the family behind but where would we go anyway?
I have a few friends who feel the same way …. they would like to relocate to Montana and buy several adjoining properties or a large tract we could split among families; and I can see value in getting to a lower population density area.
BUT Fer had a real good point on that relocation tactic and that was ,to paraphrase "the garden aint gonna be cuttin you any checks…" and making a living in a new area with no contact network is a huge hurdle.
For me I just have to many people right here so I have chosen to stick with sheltering in place right here with a few fallback options.
Same here, bugging out is out of the question for me.
How is your Saiga project coming Crabby?

With things hanging by a thread right now, I'd say uprooting is a huge risk by yourself, let along with wife and underaged children. No, its been time to hunker down and refine your preps and mindset and training for some while now.

I received them but have not decided on the actual conversion parts yet I was pretty set on a tapco 6 position collapsible stock and pacht-meyers pistol grip and tromix fire control group but the friend of mine with the FFL had some input on things….. I will have to do more research before ordering parts.

Friends,
It's time. We have converged our thinking, our philosophy, into a main torrent flowing to the same ocean. Yes, we are there. We've arrived to the periphery of hardcore survivalism—the place where the pragmatic blends with the conspiratorial. Rawles, Tappan: we have come home to roost. It is time to open The Topic that we have not dared opened. MW, I leave it to your discretion. Let's talk about relocating to the American Redoubt.

Ok, the American Redoubt. I will open such a thread.
I assume you mean a formal organizational brainstorm for the chartering of an autonomous, closed and communal society based on libertarian and judo-christian values and tenets. A walled enclave composed of each other and our families.
By my count there is a hardcore circle of about a dozen of us. I volunteer myself as secretary and Jamie as Presiding Officer. I nominate Justin Case for finance chairman and the rest I'll leave to second my nominations and add or revise such.

Exactly, and that's why I put you up for the task. Jaime doesn't even have to move. She already there.

Gingrich Collapses in Iowa as Ron Paul Surges to the Front
but he's still not a contender
what will it take for these people to take him seriously?

RP the man. I can already see the ticket: RP and Huntsman for 2012.

Eleven easy questions will reveal who is your true candidate. My results were RP, Huntsman, Newt. Don't be shy to reveal if you end up with Santorum as your favorite candidate.
