Well, last night I had a dream about all you guys from grab the apple. Never had a dream about it before. The dream went like this:
Me, Jarhead and Gallo met at some restaurant for the first time and the conversation was basically about the economy which was apparently right on the verge of collapse and we three were planning a meet up where all GTA members would further plan to start our own farm/ town.
As the dream progressed, time went by and the moment came where all of us met together in Arkansas at Jarhead's house, the rallying point for our caravan which was to move west and start our new lives. I remember meeting Jamie and Justincase in that part of the dream, and Justin was remarking at how I had forgotten to bring dog food for his new puppy (wierd?!?). Anyways, Jamie was sort of the "Mom" of our group, keeping things cool, since Jarhead and and I tended to bump head's a little in the dream. Jarhead, I got a kick out of that when I awoke!
Anyways, by the time we were done readying our vehicles for the seemingly multiple hundred mile carava, all hell broke loose. The economy did collapse, it was a moment of panic all around. Cars were crashing, people screaming and the whole dream scene seemed to turn dark and brooding.
The dream ended with my alarm clock waking me up this morning, but the last thing I remember is a bunch of us with weapons in our hands running to get to our vehicles.
One of the best dreams I've ever had. Glad I remember it so well. It actually makes me want to write a book or short story about us.
Cheers!

MW,
In a previous post you were delirious about Jamie's bras and on this dream she's like a "mom." I think you've got some serious Freudian issues.
Good dream, though. We should plan a GTA get together.

Freud wasn't a prepper, though!
Regarding the get-together. Yea, we've already got one planned for after the republic is restored, at the Liberty Bell at noon on July 4th, but I wonder what the practicality would be of a real get-together.
I like the idea, though.

PM, I don't remember what everybody looked like, per se, except that JH looked like a grizzled drill sergeant, Gallo was like a massively tall, brawny lumberjack looking guy and Jamie was short, cute and had brown hair and dark eyebrows.

You know MW some people are making some really good money writing books and instead of publishing them they sell them on Amazon Kindle for $.99 and up. I've bought several post Apocalypse books priced form $.99 to $3.99. You can down load a Kindle reader to your computer for free if you don't have a Kindle and check out some of the books yourself. My last was Apocalypse Law by John Grit not novel grade but worth the 99 cents. The story was OK but the editing was lacking.

Well sorry to burst your bubble MW I'm chubby 5'6" and my hair is at best a dark blonde going grey. I have light colored eyes that look a blue grey or green depending on the colors I wear.
I don't color my hair as I earned those grey hairs. I always thought the salt and pepper look was attractive. Most folks do think I color my hair in the summertime it looks like I add hi-lites to my hair and it just kind of bleaches out from the sun.
I have an Irish look in facial structure, but a red gold tan from Cherokee and Comanche heritage and a good solid German body. LOL

Sorry I'm working on a Saiga in 7.62 does that count?
How about 2 Auto pistols in .40 and 45acp and a very nasty looking 12 gauge pump dressed in basic black?

That was a pretty awesome dream! I had one like that too, about 20 years ago…which was about the time I started to see that the whole world was going to shi!. In my dream, I was in my home town which at the time, was one of the most peaceful towns in the country. But in my dream, it was total mayhem and chaos. Drug dealers were selling cocaine openly on tables on street corners, drive by shootings constantly, car crashes, complete lawlessness; and the atmosphere was dark and brooding: kind of like right before sunset, but a huge storm was rolling in and the clouds were blocking out what little light might have been left. I was on foot, several miles from home and constantly running from one danger to the next trying to make it home. I think the feeling of panic woke me up. Now, what really has me is that 20 years later, I can see this starting to come to pass: my town is now #9 in the country on the most violent crime per capita. We're in the news and on TV constantly due to the drug problems. You know, I'd really like to leave now but I'm afraid I'm dug in a little too deep to uproot my wife and myself and leave the rest of the family behind but where would we go anyway?

I have a few friends who feel the same way …. they would like to relocate to Montana and buy several adjoining properties or a large tract we could split among families; and I can see value in getting to a lower population density area.
BUT Fer had a real good point on that relocation tactic and that was ,to paraphrase "the garden aint gonna be cuttin you any checks…" and making a living in a new area with no contact network is a huge hurdle.
For me I just have to many people right here so I have chosen to stick with sheltering in place right here with a few fallback options.
