I gave these suggestions to my "Clan" for free/cheap gifts that I would really like.

Jingle bells jingle bells……. here is a make Papa happy on the cheap Christmas wish list…. maybe someone could help their little brothers with this tooo :)
I would like any of the following foraged locally….. like here in xxxxxx County
12 raspberry plants trimed back to about 18" and potted in milk jugs
12 blackberry plants same as above

24" cuttings potted in milk jugs
(do a little net surfing for instructions on propagating by cuttings)
12 blueberry
(you could probably cut them off Mama's if you ask nice and let her coach you)
12 elderberry
12 mulberry

a 5 gallon bucket 500 worm farm of dug/picked worms
(ask xxxxxx for help with the filling for the bucket)

I thought I would post this so you could get me somthing I will really like that you can get free or cheap by investing a little time…. multiples of the items would be ok AND if there aren't any under the tree well ….. I guess maybe I was kinda naughty. ; )

I will let you know in a month how my gift trolling panned out ; )

That's a great list, Crabby: I planted some rasberrys and a blue berry bush myself. The blue berry bush is in a container next to the house and the rasberry bush is pretty much trimmed to the ground by the God &amn Deer!! (I planted it outside the deer fence). Was wondering how your deer control efforts were going and are you preparing your Christmas gifts for this 'hazard'?

The United States' I grew up in no longer exists…click your heals, Dorothy: you're not in Kansas anymore!!

I have made a kind of trade with the deer …. they get some grazing I get some grillinglaugh

THE REAL marauders in my garden this year were GRAY SQUIRRELS and by spring they will ALL be in my freezer or have been added to stews.  I had been keeping a dog in a kennel near the Garden at night and that really kept the deer problem in check but the squirrels really hammered the garden particularly my popcorn that I was raising in a small patch near the house for SEED those little gray !@#$% ate almost ALL of it right at the end of the season.

Crabby, you need a couple small hawks to guard your premesis. I wish Falconing was still around like the old days, they used it for hunting but I'm sure they were also handy for pesky varmints like gray squirrels!
