I've been trying to make my own solar oven with cheap parts because of the costs for a Global Sun oven that goes for over $350.00. But this month I found a solar oven for $189.00, 2 cooking pans and a little water gauge that tells you if water has been boiled and safe to drink at emergencypreparedness. com . I'm trying to work the numbers and I think it's doable this month.Thank goodness that most of my holiday shopping is done.
I'm going to get a solar shower and 1 of those big 5 gallon insulated water jugs. That should take care of just warming water for a spit bath and cleaning clothes.
Mom wants to go with 1, 50 watt panel and I buy her 2, 20 watt panels. So I need to come up with a bit more cash quicker than I originally thought. But it will also give me a 60 watt system that is a good start for the RV.
2 more sets of the solar powered LED string lights at Big Lots $15.00 each this week and I should have a least a little light to keep me from stumbling around and over stuff. The neighbors will get used to seeing them on and I get to test them this winter and see how they hold up during min. sun light hours.
